Bullying/Homophobia

Are you being bullied or harrassed because you are LGBT? Well if so we want to hear about it! We want to help you through it! If you feel confident enough we will support you when you stand up to them or report it! I personally join millions of other LGBT people when we talk about bullying. WE'VE been there and the majority of us have pulled through! Now it is so much more easier to deal with bullying and harrasment. There is so much that can be done! People are willing to help. Not so long ago I wrote a piece for the puffta website about bullying. To view it go to www.puffta.co.uk/gayboy/bullyme.html its not just advice you can use at school, but its advice you can use at work, basically it's universal, suitable for any situation!

The key to beating the harrassers is just ignore them, but record what they do. No matter how hard it is try not to bite their bait!
"True Vision" is a information pack about Hate Crime and it promotes reporting any prejudised crime. It was created by Police Constabularys up and down the country. It is such a little pack yet contains loads of useful info! It gives you definitions on what homophobic or transphobic bullying is, what you can do about it, policies and procedures in school and colleges; it also tells you about self reporting, what you can report and why. The pack also contains a "whats happening in your community" booklet which tells you what the police offer and different programmes running. It even tells you a bit about the kent police gay and lesbian support group.
There is a form you can fill in to report a Hate Crime incident, the other leaflets in it are policing for prosecuting cases with a homophobic element, a domestic violence guide and a streetwise leaflet. Finally not only do you get all this info, but you also get a wait for it ... an addressed envelope which has a freepost address to return your report form! But if snail mail is not your thing then there is a website
www.report-it.org.uk but if it is very serious or you are in real danger, phone or go to your local police station!
